New Things Offered Around Town
On July 23, 2010 the Roscoe Chamber of Commerce received approval from the
NYS Department of Environmental Conservation to build a handicapped access
fishing ramp on the Willowemoc River at Riverside Park. Our next steps are
the development of detailed plans for the ramp and the identification of
funding sources to help us build it. The beauty of Riverside Park and the
Willowemoc will be further enhanced by making it more accessible to our
handicapped visitors.
Roscoe Wins Again
On
August 9th, Roscoe once again won the Golden Feather award, a $50,000 grant
made possible by NYS Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther. This award recognizes
Roscoe as having exhibited the highest level of excellence in Sullivan
County in all aspects of its three-year revitalization and beautification
projects. Roscoe also received the Stewardship Award for Historic
Preservation from the Sullivan Renaissance Organization. We are proud of all
of the hard work and dedication of our community in earning these honors,
and we look forward to using these awards to further improve our community.
